I found this piece as part of a bedroom set at a thrift shop. It had a factory finish on it that took lots of sandpaper to remove. It was taken apart (held together with cams and screws as a knock-down construction) and sanded and finished.
We made an Oak base for it that was waffled so that it could hold more weight evenly inside. We made shelving to slide into the spaces to hold our supplies.
